How will a therapy that is specific to insomnia help me get better sleep?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a time-limited and highly structured psychotherapy approach that can literally ‘reset the clock’ and solve sleep problems that may have been persistent for months or years. Multiple studies have been conducted validating CBT-I as the first line treatment in helping individuals with insomnia.

How many sessions of CBT-I does it take to get a better night of sleep?

Individuals can experience an improvement in their sleep in as few as 3 to 4 sessions. CBT-I can range between 4-8 sessions depending on the factors that may be contributing to your sleep difficulties.

I have other areas in my life that I want to work on other than sleep. Do you work with clients experiencing other concerns?

Yes, as seasoned, board certified psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP), I can help you with an array of other concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders.

What role can psychiatric medications play in my wellness?

Sometimes when you are struggling, the thought of starting or changing a medication can feel overwhelming. As an NP, I ensure considering “the whole you” in the holistic care I provide. I only consider medication after a complete evaluation and in collaboration with you. Psychiatric medications that are considered controlled medications may also be clinically indicated for specific indications. I only prescribe these medications judiciously and after an established treatment plan with routine follow-ups for your safety and well-being.

I don’t know if I can always commit to coming into your office. Do you conduct visits online or by phone?

Yes! The telehealth platform I use allows for content/screen sharing so that you you do not miss out on any psycho-educational material that I would give to you in person. I can conduct your session in the comfort of your living room or office at work.

Do you take insurance?

While I do not currently take insurance, most insurance carriers will reimburse part or all of my fees as an out of network provider. I will provide you with a document (“superbill”) as needed for insurance reimbursement purposes. Often, 50-80% of my fees are reimbursed.

How can I make an appointment?

Feel free to call, e-mail, or fill out a general inquiry in the ‘Contact’ section in the web page. I will coordinate with you to set up a free 20 minute telephone consultation to get a sense of what you are experiencing and how I may be able to help.

I manage a team and want to provide a wellness workshop on better sleep habits for my employees. Do you offer this kind of service?

Yes, I offer structured workshops educating a variety of employees from tech entrepreneurs to healthcare professionals on how to get a better night’s sleep. Feel free to contact me to discuss.
